Iva Knotts

Iva Ruth Knotts, 95, of Crellin went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Garrett Regional Medical Center.  Born on May 17, 1923, in McHenry, she was the daughter of the late James Arthur Garfield Glotfelty and Nora Ella (Turney) Glotfelty.  Residing now in her heavenly home, Iva was loved by all who knew her and we are so grateful for the years she has been a part of our lives.  She retired from the county as a cafeteria manager at Crellin Elementary School and also as head of food services at what was then known as the new Garrett County Jail.  Strong in her faith, Iva had been a member of the Crellin United Methodist Church for over 70 years.  She is survived by four daughters, Dorothy Jean Meinke of Peoria, IL, Ruth Ann Noakes and husband Bill of Waynesville, MO, Martha Sue Grass of Oakland, and Helen Kay Moyer and husband Jeff of Red House; grandchildren, Jackie Habel, Larry Meinke, Jennie Murfin, Scott Noakes, Susie Brantner, John McCartney, Billy McCartney and Josh Moyer; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special neighbor, Carol DeWitt.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Ernest W. Knotts; a grandson, Petey McCartney; two sons in law, Russ Meinke and Harvey Grass; two sisters; and five brothers. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd  St., Oakland on Wednesday, June 20, from 3 to 7 PM and at the Crellin United Methodist Church, 57 Crellin St., Crellin on Thursday, June 21, from 10 to 11 AM after which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Barbara Rexroad officiating.  Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, c/o 104 E Center St., Oakland, MD 21550 or the Crellin United Methodist Church.
