Hobert A. Schell, 92, of Bayard, WV died on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Ruby Memorial Hospital with his family by his side in Morgantown, WV. Born on June 11, 1920 in Scherr, WV, he was the son of the late Garfield and Cora (Cosner) Schell. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during World War II and worked as a coal miner and sheriff's deputy. He was a member of the American Legion Proctor Kildow Post #71 in Oakland and the Keyser VFW Post #3518. He is survived by his wife of forty years, Alice Fay (Cameron) Schell; two daughters, Andrea Shaffer and husband Donnie of Oakland and Patti Scott of Davis, WV; one son, Rev. Cliff Schell and wife Mary Anne of Bridgeport, WV; seven grandchildren, Bradley, Matthew, Madison, Julie, Mark, Todd and Miriah; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Victor Schell and wife Ethel of Fairmont, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul Schell, Clarence Schell, and Teddy Schell; and two sisters, Alice Hipp and Willye Hawk. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, June 29th from noon to 1 PM at which time a memorial service will be held with Pastor Becky Bennett officiating. Interment will take place on a later date in Addison Cemetery, Addison, PA.
