Henry Trickett

June 12, 1927 — December 31, 2009

Born June 12, 1927 in Oakland, MD, he was the son of the late Frederick Daniel and Martha Ann (West) Trickett. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Harold Trickett.

Mr. Trickett retired from the Garrett County Roads Department after 40 years of employment. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII; member of the American Legion Proctor Kildow Post #71, the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #2481, former Assistant Scout Master to Troop #93, and attended Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Thelma Jean (Cummings) Trickett; two sons, Merlin Wayne Trickett and wife Linda of Rainelle, WV, Henry C. Trickett and wife Christi of Morgantown, WV; one step-daughter, Joyce Newell and husband Aaron of Gaithersburg, MD; grandchildren, Michelle Trickett, Lindsey Trickett, Brittany Trickett; step-grandchildren, Amberly Newell, Zoey Newell, Christian Miller, Mackenzie Miller, Chelsea Miller; 1 great granddaughter, Easton Lederman; and former wife Betty K. Trickett of Oakland, MD.

The family will receive friends at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second St., Oakland, MD on Friday, January 1, 2010 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2010 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Gail Hixon officiating. Interment will follow in Garrett County Memorial Gardens where military honors will be accorded.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of memorial donations, in his name, to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 7 Mill Brook Rd., Wilton, NH 03086.

Henry Clay Trickett, Sr., 82 of Oakland, MD died Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Garrett County Memorial Hospital.
