Helena Mae (Perando) Thrasher, 86 of Deer Park, MD, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Garrett Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born January 27, 1925 in Kitzmiller, MD, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin & Princess Evelyn (O'Haver) Perando. Also, preceded in death by brothers-Benjamin M. Perando and Franklin Dale Perando.
Helena was a 1943 graduate of Kitzmiller High School. She was a former employee of Proudfoot's Pharmacy and retired from Garrett National Bank with 23 years of service. She was a member of the Deer Park Homemakers, Charter Member of Deer Park Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and Past Matron of Eastern Star #67 Oakland, MD, a catholic by faith and her hobbies were sewing, painting and crafts.
Survived by husband of 64 years, Carl William Thrasher, my Buddie &Friend brother-Richard Russell Perando and wife, Kathleen, Petersburg, WV; lots of nieces and nephews, the children we never had.
Family and friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. 2nd St, Oakland, MD, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m, Friday, April 15, 2011.
Eastern Star #67 Oakland, MD will have a memorial service, Friday, April 15, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 16, 2011 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Barbara Rexrode officiating.
Interment will be in the Deer Park Cemetery.
