Helen Rolf

Helen Marie Rolf, 99, of Oakland died on Friday, April 28, 2017, at the Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  Born on August 24, 1917 in Gorman, she was the daughter of the late George and Zella (King) Shreve.  She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Red House, where she was very involved in the Ladie's Circle.  She enjoyed working on the farm and taking care of her family as well as quilting and crocheting.  She will be remembered as having a "heart of gold."  She is survived by her son Donald William Rolf and wife Pat of Oakland; three grandchildren, David Allen Rolf and Tina Rolf, both of Oakland, and Pam Clayborne of York, PA; five great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; three sisters, Ruby Harvey of Oakland, Carolyn Bunnell of Bayard, WV and Betty Sirk of Mt. Storm, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow William Rolf, in 1978; two sisters, Edna Clark and Goldie Bowers; and a brother, Edward Shreve.  Friends will be received at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Sunday, April 30th from 6 to 8 PM and on Monday, May 1st from 10 to 11 AM after which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Regina Beard officiating.  Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oakland Nursing and Rehab Activities Department, 706 E Alder St., Oakland, MD 21550.
