Helen Esther Greaser, age 90, of Oakland, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on April 5, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Anna Mae (Evans) Greaser.
Early in her life Helen operated a fishing worm stand where at the time you could buy a dozen worms for a quarter. She enjoyed counting cars and watching traffic pass by her home. She also documented the weather and fishing worm sales on her calendar. Helen enjoyed drinking water directly from the spring, not from the faucet, working puzzles and crocheting. She was a Christian by faith and a member of Hiway Assembly of God.
Helen is survived by a brother, Garland Greaser and wife Sang of Texas; a nephew, Kenny Greaser and wife Bev of Oakland; three great nieces, Cristey Kordyban and husband David of Oakland, Samantha DeWitt and husband Aaron of Swanton, and Sue Whitacre of Kitzmiller; a great nephew, J.R. Tasker and wife Shelly of Virginia; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers; one sister; and a niece, Virginia “Pud” Dillsworth.
Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church Street, Kitzmiller on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 from 5-7 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 1 PM. Interment will follow in IOOF Cemetery, Elk Garden, West Virginia.
