Helen Crone

Helen V. (Tatterson) Crone, 89, of Mt. Lake Park, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 26, 2017.  Born on August 21, 1927, in Fairmont, WV, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Rosa (Fleming) Tatterson.  She was a 1945 graduate of East Fairmont High School and was proud to be a homemaker.  Helen was a member of the Oak Park Church of the Brethren and had also attended services at the Mountaintop Seventh-Day Adventist Church.  When her children were young, she served as both a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader.  In addition to spending time with her family, Helen greatly enjoyed reading, gardening and needlepoint.  She is survived by two grandsons, Richard Seeders and wife Suzette of Loch Lynn and William Seeders and wife Cheryl of Terra Alta, WV; two granddaughters, Rhea Fair Crone of Hazard, KY and Glenda  Seeders Davis and husband Teddy of FL; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and several special nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer William Crone, in 2013; four children, Donna Leigh Crone Seeders, Robert William Crone, Karen Sue Crone and James Edward Crone; and all of her brothers and sisters as she was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  Friends will be received at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, June 30th from 1 to 2 PM after which time a funeral service will be held with John Rodeheaver officiating.  Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
