Helen Beckman

Helen Louise Beckman, 95, of Beckman's Peninsula Deep Creek Lake, passed away on June 23, 2023, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on April 3, 1928, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Minnie (Lee) White.

Helen was a graduate of Oakland High School in 1945. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church Meadow Mountain and a life member of the E.L.C.A. She enjoyed bird watching and traveling as a snow bird to the Florida in the winter months.

She is survived by two children, Linda Beckman Thomas and Ed Beckman; a grandson, Eric Thomas; and two great grandchildren, Theo and Jaxen Thomas; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, A. Harland Beckman, who preceded her in death in 2001; six siblings, George F. White, Harold E. White, Max L. White, Nellie Swartzentruber, Myrtle Durben, and Maxine DeBerry.

Friends will be received Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 10 to 11 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church of Meadow Mountain. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, in the church with Pastor Tom Omholt officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Swanton.

In lieu of flowers, Helen's request is to be hospitable and gracious towards one another.
