Hazel Virginia Carr, 97, formerly of Red Creek, WV passed away May 16, 2017 at Colonial Place in Elkins, WV. She was born November 22, 1919 in Red Creek, WV a daughter of the late Amos J. and Lena M. Ault Carr. She is the last surviving member of her family. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, William Henry Carr, Charles Hoye Carr and Herman Dale Carr and one sister, Hester May Carr Wood.
Ms. Carr was a registered nurse. She worked for the U.S. Public Health System and The National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD. She enjoyed public speaking. She was an active member of the Dale Carnegie Organization and she was Presbyterian by faith.
Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home, Friday, May 19, from 6-8 PM and Saturday, May 20, from 9-11 AM. Graveside services will be held, Saturday May 20, 11:30 AM, at Flanagan Hill Cemetery, Red Creek, WV with Rev. Lonnie Daniels officiating.
