Harry King

Harry Reid King, 95 of Oakland, MD, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Oakland Nursing & Rehab Center.

Born September 16, 1916 in Deer Park, MD, he was the son of the late Emanuel B. & Laura Mae (Friend) King. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Elizabeth (Reckner) King in 1997; a daughter, Sandra K. Dixon in 1995; brother, Edward King; sister, Lola King and grandson, Reid King.

Harry was a Veteran having served in the United States Navy during World War II. Harry had worked for B & O Railroad for 39 years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and Proctor Kildow Post #71, were he recently received his 65 year pin.

Surviving are: a son, Rodney R. King & wife, Mary, Deer Park; half-sister, Betty Beckman, Oakland and Dolly Bagget, Alexandria, VA; grandchildren, Cindy Murray & husband Charles, Brad King & wife Shannon, Chad King & wife Amy and Angie Ringler & husband Allen; great-grandchildren, Amanda King Schmidt, Jeremiah King, Charles Murray, Mary Beth Murray, Erin King, Joshua King, Sara King, Alyssa Ringler, Kaylee Ringler and Kaylin Ringler, great-great grandson, Reid Schmidt and grand daughter-in-law, Brenda Beckman.

Family & friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St, Oakland, MD, Sunday, February 19, 2012 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held Monday, February 20, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Pastor Randy Richardson officiating.

Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
