Harriett Louise (McRobie) Beckman, 87 of Swanton, MD, passed away, Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Garrett County Memorial Hospital.
Born October 28, 1923 in Oakland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ernest J. and Lilly Mae ( Stephens). She was also preceded in death by husband, Irvin E. Beckman; brothers, Ernest J. McRobie, Jr., Oliver D. McRobie, Carveth M. McRobie and David A. McRobie; sisters, Dorothy O. Baker and Nancy R. Johnson.
Harriett was a homemaker, member of Otterbein United Methodist Church and active in Swanton Community Center.
Surviving are: son-Lynn Beckman and wife, Mary V., Swanton, MD; daughter-Shirley Lipscomb and husband, Richard, Eglon, WV; sister-Josephine E. Murphy, Morgantown, WV; grandchildren-six, one deceased; great grandchildren-four and great-great grandchildren-two.
Family and friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. 2nd Street, Oakland, MD, Friday, March 25, 2011, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 26, 2011, 2011 at the Otterbein United Methodist Church, Swanton, MD, with the Rev. Barbara Rexrode and Rev. Angie Cosner officiating.
Interment will be in George Cemetery.
