Harold Clifton Funkhouser, also known as "Toot" and "Doc", 76, of Elk Garden, WV died on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Western Maryland Health System of Cumberland, MD. Born on August 19, 1939 in Baker, WV, he was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson and Rosa Elizabeth (Combs) Funkhouser. Harold was a graduate of Bayard High School class of 1960. He enjoyed spending time outdoors looking at wildlife and countless hours riding his four-wheeler. He was a former plant operator in asphalt manufacturing, formerly known as Armstrong Paving. He is survived by a sister, Violet Kitzmiller of Mt. Storm, WV; nephews, James Findley, Jr., Jeff Funkhouser, Gene Funkhouser, Jackie L. Funkhouser, Earl Kitzmiller and Johnny Kitzmiller and their families; nieces, Angela S. Findley, Carla Hardy and Brenda Kelbaugh and their families; a brother in law, James Findley, Sr.; and a sister in law, Margaret Funkhouser. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene L. Funkhouser and Woodrow W. Funkhouser; and a sister, Karen S. Findley. According to his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family service will be planned for a later date. The C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland and Kitzmiller, is assisting the family with arrangements.
