Guy Edward Shaffer, 73 of Horse Shoe Run, WV died Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Oakland Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Born August 20, 1936 in Horse Shoe Run, WV, he was the son of the late Herman W. and Gertrude P. (Sell) Shaffer. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Denise Shaffer and Bernice Shaffer; one brother Joseph Shaffer; two sisters, Vera White and Jane Hebb.
Surviving are his wife Judy Shaffer of Horse Shoe Run; two sons, Gary Shaffer and Guy Wayne Shaffer both of Horse Shoe Run; one daughter, Regina Savage of McHenry, MD; 12 grandchildren & numerous great grandchildren; one brother Leonard Shaffer of Ohio; five sisters, Geraldine Arnold of Elkins, WV, Patsy Mikles of Hubert, NC, Alta Minnick of Warrenton, Va, Carolyn Spencer of Elkins, WV, Letha Helmick of Horse Shoe Run, WV; and numerous nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second St., Oakland, MD on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. John Foy officiating. Interment will be in Garrett Memorial Gardens.
