Gordon Rexrode
October 16, 1939 — June 4, 2010
Gordon Leo Rexrode, 70 of Mt. Jackson, VA passed away Friday morning, June 4, 2010 at his home.
Born October 16, 1939 in Garrett County, MD, he was the son of Gertrude Landis Rexrode of Loch Lynn, MD and the late Ross Rexrode. He was also predeceased by his brother Roger Rexrode.
Mr. Rexrode was a retired foreman for Howell Metal Co. of New Market, VA where he had been employed for 39 years.
He was a member of the New Market Eagles, the Mt Jackson Moose Lodge, and was also a member of the Antioch Regular Baptist Church at Broadway.
On November 4, 1960 he married the former Vauda E. Cosner, who passed away on Dec. 10, 2000.
He is survived by his son Jeffrey Rexrode and his wife Karey of Mt. Jackson; a sister Carla Hyson, three brothers, Burton, Darryl, and Lyle Rexrode; four grandchildren, Anna, Tiffani, Jeffrey Jr., and Emily.
Friends may call Saturday and Sunday at the Theis Funeral Home in New Market, VA. where the family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Sunday followed by a prayer service.
Friends may also call on Monday and Tuesday at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, 21 N. Second St., Oakland, MD where the family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2010, followed by a prayer service.
Grave services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at the Alkire Cemetery in Mt. Storm, WV.
