Gloria Joan DeWitt, 81, of Oakland died on Monday, January 6, 2014 at her home. Born on September 3, 1932 in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Wade and Ilene (Carter) Bolyard. She had retired as Medical Aide from the former Cuppett and Weeks Nursing Home. She had also been a member of the Apostolics of Oakland church. She is survived by her children, Joseph C. DeWitt, Donald R. DeWitt, Michael J. DeWitt, Janet Moats, Phillip L. DeWitt and Mark A. DeWitt, all of Oakland; fifteen grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and her siblings, Imy Weeks of Daytona, FL, Edith Dagorn of Daytona, FL, and Carlos Bolyard of Oakland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maxwell W. DeWitt, in 2009. Friends will be received at the Apostolics of Oakland on Thursday, January 9th from 11 AM to 1 PM at which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. Aaron Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, McHenry. The Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
