Glenn Edward Butts, 82, of Oakland, died on Sunday, October 11, 2020, at UPMC Altoona, PA.
Born on June 18, 1938, in Oakland, he was the son of the late Charles William and Leota E. (Evans) Butts.
Glenn was a retired welder having worked for Bethlehem Steel at Sparrow's Point in Baltimore. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time hunting and gardening. Later in life, he spent many hours hanging out with his friends and enjoying good times and drinks under the pavilion at his house.
He is survived by his son, Brian E. Butts, Sr. and wife Anita of Baltimore; his daughter, Maria Hutchins and husband Russ, Jr. of Greensboro, MD; grandchildren, Brian E. Butts, Jr., Jami L. Butts, Tami N. Batton, Jennifer L Treas, Matthew Hutchins, and Russell Hutchins, III; great grandchildren, Macie Gogel, Malorie Gogel, Ty Batton, Teagan Batton, Russell Hutchins, Max Hutchins, and Robbie Hutchins; a sister, Phyllis Trickett; nieces, Pam Trickett and Kim Trickett; and a great niece, Lexi Trickett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his long-time companion, Eula Jean Strait; a brother, Charles Butts; and a sister, Maxine LeCompte.
Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, from 5 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at 11 AM with the Rev. Dr. Matthew Paugh officiating. Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Elk Garden, WV.
