Gladys Louise Paugh, 85, of Oakland, MD passed away on September 13, 2020, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on January 4, 1935, in Oakland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Irene (Riley) Moomaw.

Gladys was a graduate of Southern High School. She was a homemaker and took great pride in caring for her family. She was a member of the Faith Evangelical Free Church, where she was active in the choir, Bible School, and Ladies Aide projects. Gladys enjoyed spending time gardening, crocheting, and quilting.

She is survived by one daughter, Teresa “Teri” Howell and husband John of Swanton; two sons, Gary Paugh and wife LuAnn of Somerset, and Steven Paugh and wife Crystal of Oakland; one stepdaughter, Mary Herring of York, PA; nine grandchildren, Judi Herring and husband Bert, Christy Yeiser and husband Daniel, Matthew Howell, Brian Howell, Jason Paugh and wife Heather, Nicholas Paugh and wife Cherie, Daniel Paugh and wife Balee, Brandon Paugh, and Felicia Miller and husband Cody; a sister, Nancy Fike; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband after 50 years of marriage, Harland M. Paugh, whom she married on February 14, 1958; a brother, Franklin Moomaw; a brother-in-law, Dale Fike; a grandson, William Herring and one stepson-in-law, Frank Herring.

A private family service was held at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 with Pastor Daniel Yeiser officiating. Interment followed in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
