Gladys M. Breedlove, 86 of Oakland, MD, passed away peacefully Monday, October 25, 2010 at the Oakland Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Born July 16, 1924 in Garrett County, MD, Gladys was the daughter of the late Lemial E. and Edna M. (Shafer) Beckman. She was also preceded in death by her husbands William Beitzel and Arlie P. Breedlove; son, Michael Ray Beitzel; sister, Ann Beckman Kahl and brother, Junior James Beckman.
Gladys graduated from Oakland High School 1942. She was a farm wife, gardener, quilter and loved spending time with her grand children.
Surviving are: son, William George Beitzel, Jr.; daughter, Sharon Elaine Lewis, Grants, New Mexico; brother, Franklin Beckman, McHenry, MD. 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. 2nd Street, Oakland, MD, Wednesday, October 27, 2010, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 28, 2010 at the funeral home chapel.
