Gertrue Rexrode

Gertrue Gladys (Landis) Rexrode, 91, of Mt. Lake Park died on Monday, October 1, 2012 at home. Born on January 23, 1921 in Swanton, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Anna Mae (Friend) Landis. She was a nurse for 36 years at the former Cuppett & Weeks Nursing Home from which she retired at the age of 75. For several years after her retirement, she was a volunteer for Hospice of Garrett County. She was a member of the Mountaintop Seventh Day Adventist Church in Oakland. She is survived by her sons, Burton Rexrode, Darrell Rexrode and Lyle Rexrode; her daughter, Carla Hyson; grandchildren, Phillip Rexrode, Cheryl Rexrode, Kevin Rexrode, Kimberly Batzer, Brian DeBusk, Jeffery Rexrode, Renea Rexrode, Sheila Rexrode, Eric Rexrode, Chrissa Kisner, Michelle Kisner, Amanda Kisner, Connie Herman, Nathan Rexrode, and Marshall Rexrode; great grandchildren, Adam Rexrode, Stephen Mumpower, Brian DeBusk Jr., Megan DeBusk, Alyssa Batzer, Austin Rexrode, Collin Rexrode, Anna Rexrode, Tiffani Rexrode, Jeffery Rexrode Jr., Emily Rexrode, Julianne Rexrode, Thomas Fink II, De'Nae Armstrong, Lauren Robertson, Marci Maiers, Matthew Maiers, Isys Rushin-Kisner, Rick Wotring, Tiffany Wotring, and Carrie Herman; and great great grandchildren, Tori Mumpower and Landon Georg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Gordon Leo Rexrode and Roger Rexrode; a brother, Elden C. Landis and an infant sister. Friends will be received on Wednesday, October 3rd from 6 to 8 PM at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 4th at 10 AM with her son, Burton Rexrode officiating. Interment will follow in Deer Park Cemetery.
