Gerald Wilkins

Gerald Lester Wilkins,71, of Thomas, WV died November 2, 2011 at his home at Pineview Apartments.

He was born February 20, 1940 at Thomas, WV, a son of the late William Lester and Mary Elizabeth Peterson Wilkins. He is survived by 1 brother, Pete (Debbie) Novallis of Thomas, WV, 3 sisters, Jean DeMent and Linda (Bill) Fridley both of Thomas, WV, Judy (Joe) Eye, Jenningston, WV, 15 nieces and nephews and 18 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 1 sister, Barbara Hebb.
Jerry was a 1958 graduate of Mountaineer High School and was active in the Alumni Association.  He was employed as a welder for Modern Tool and Die Co. in the Cleveland, OH area for many years until his retirement.  He was a member of FOE # 936 in Davis WV, Moose Lodge and AM Vets in Elyria OH. He enjoyed bowling with his Moose Lodge team members and was an avid Cleveland Browns and WVU Mountaineer fan. What Jerry enjoyed most was being around his many nieces and nephews. He was a Protestant by faith.
Jerry's remains were cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Mt. Hospice 1600 Crim Ave. Belington, WV 26250.  Condolences may be made to the family at hinklefuneralhome.com.   Hinkle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
