George Chloros

George Costas Chloros, Jr., 44, of Remington, VA and formerly of Oakland, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Monday, November 24, 2014 surrounded by his family at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton, VA. Born on December 10, 1969 in Arlington, VA, he was the son of Delores Jean "Dee" (Shaffer) Burns and husband John J. of Oakland and George C. Chloros, Sr. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Persian Gulf War and had worked on the F-15 fighter jets. He was an airplane mechanic for Mesa Airlines out of Dulles Airport. George grew up attending the Loch Lynn United Brethren Church where he had been baptized. In addition to spending time with his family, he loved owning and showing "muscle" cars, deer hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 14 years, Waewdao (Wachrathit) Chloros; three children, Leon Hampton, Leann Chloros and Ryan Chloros, all at home; a sister, Christina Ervin and husband Randy of Oakland; a brother, Ben Chloros and wife Ellen of Pittsburgh, PA; two step-sisters, Shannon Burns and Colleen Burns, both of Pittsburgh; niece and nephew, Corree and Randall Ervin; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Benjamin, Jr. and Mildred Shaffer, and an uncle, Benjamin Shaffer, III. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, November 28th from 1 to 4 PM after which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Mark Weeks officiating. Private interment will take place in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Oakland.
