Genevieve Schleigh

March 7, 1917 — August 17, 2012

Genevieve Thomas Schleigh, 95 formerly of Friendsville, MD went home August 17, 2012 at the home of her daughter Elaine in Grantsville, MD. She was born March 7, 1917 in Masontown, WV and was the daughter of the late John Nelson & Jessie May (Nicholson) Nuce. She was also preceded in death by husbands, Robert Thomas and Norman Schleigh; daughter, Delores "Tootie" SinClair; brothers, Lawrence , Elmer, Lloyd & Clarence Boone Nuce. Genevieve had managed Deep Creek Lodge for over twenty years and was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church. She was an amazing woman, who worked hard and was a loving caregiver for the elderly. She loved to quilt and needle point. She is survived by sons, Robert Paul Thomas, Oakland and David Allen Thomas, Grantsville; daughters, Lois Elaine Snyder, Grantsville, Carolyn Germain, Oakland and Barbara Carr, Irwin, PA; sisters, Mary Stultz, Kingwood, WV and Pauline Taylor, Masontown, WV; grandchildren, twenty-four; great-grandchildren, forty-three & great-great grandchildren, fourteen. Friends will be received Saturday, August 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St, Oakland, MD and one hour prior to funeral service. Funeral service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Pam Fahrner officiating. Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
