Gail Lynn Armstrong, 65, of Oakland, MD passed away at her home surrounded by her family on May 30, 2021. She was born July 12, 1955, a daughter to the late Jerome Bernice and Betty Lou (Stearns) Taylor.
Mrs. Armstrong served in the United States Army. After her service, she obtained an associate’s degree in Psychology from Garrett Community College. She married her husband, Darrell Lee Armstrong on March 5, 1978. Gail volunteered with Ruth Enlow Library, where she taught calligraphy, literacy, and basic computer classes. She was a Sunday School Teacher for Blaine Full Gospel Church. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, 4 wheeling and riding her motorcycle; playing the guitar, Banjo, and Madelyn; She wrote poems, short stories and songs, along with geo-caching, singing karaoke, and playing softball.
She is survived by three children, Betty Snow-Clayton, Allen Snow, Kimberly Shaffer and husband Ralph, who was Gail’s best Buddy, Numerous stepchildren, including a special place for David R. Armstrong, eight grandchildren, Taylor Clayton, Kelsey Snow- McNulty, Bailey Clayton, Stacey Kemphfer, Melanie, Ashley, and Amber Paugh, and Aliya Shaffer, four great-grandchildren, Emma, Kora, Zoey and Hazely, two sisters, Connie Vogel and Linda Soriano, three step-siblings, Lisa Kistner, Howard Lackey, Angela Lackey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Armstrong; Siblings, Jim, Tommy, and David Taylor.
Friends will be received Friday, June 4, 2021 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Kitzmiller. A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm with Rev. Virginia Tichinel officiating. The C & S Fredlock Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Armstrong family.
