Fredolen Wolf

Fredolen Lee Wolf, Jr., 85, of Oakland, passed away on May 18, 2024, at his home with his family by his side. Born on April 17, 1939, in Oakland, he was the son of the late Fredolen Lee Sr., and Edna M. (Platter) Wolf.

After graduating from Southern High School in 1958, he went to work for IUOE 37 Operating Engineers until his retirement in 1999. After retirement, he worked part time for PCM Construction. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and floating the South Branch where he had a camp with his family and friends. He also enjoyed going to the hunting lodge with his family and friends. He was a lifetime member of the Deer Park Sportman's Club and he attended the Loch Lynn Church of God.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Amelia C. (Mellinger) Wolf, to whom he was married on December 21, 1958; three children, Marcia Ashby, Fredolen L. Wolf III and wife Sue, and Rebecca S. Sines and husband Mel; two grandchildren, Leslie Rinker and husband Keith, and Jordyn Marple and husband Critter; two great grandchildren, Lia and Kamran Rinker; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, John and Vauda Mellinger; his son-in-law, Randy Ashby; two brothers, Donald Wolf and Herbert E. Wolf and wife Geraldine; along with several brother and sister-in-laws.

The family would like to thank Dr. Lydia Davis and Hospice of Garrett County for the wonderful and kind care that he received during his illness.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 10 to 11 AM at the Loch Lynn Church of God. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM in the church with Pastors Ivan and Cindy Ackerman officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
