Freda Teets

Freda Ellen Teets 86 of Swanton, MD, was welcomed by the angels to Heaven, Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at her home.

Born September 5, 1925 in Shallmar, MD, she was the daughter of the late Cyrus Alexander & Jennie Ellen (Sweitzer) Harvey. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Glenn Teets of 60 years; son, Charles Wayne Teets; brothers, Henry Jackson Rexrode, Glen Rexrode; and sisters, Amy Charlotte Harvey Sweitzer and Della Louise Rexrode Friend.

Freda was a homemaker and a caretaker. She was a devoted member of the Swanton Otterbein United Methodist Church, member of the choir, treasurer of George Cemetery & Swanton Cemetery, helped with the Swanton Girl Scouts and was famous for her Sunday dinners.

She was a loving mother and grandmother. Surviving are daughter, Mary Louise Wilson & husband David Andrew Wilson, daughter-in-law, Crystal Lynn Teets; six grandchildren, Ada "Addy" Colleen Norman & husband Christopher Wade, Johanna "Joni" Dawn Wilson, Holly Gwynn Berry & husband Craig Ross, Joshua Charles Teets, Megan Noelle Teets, and Matthew Robert Teets; and two great grandchildren, Wilson Wade Norman and Kenneth David Augustus "Gus" Norman and sister, Glenna May Harvey Sweitzer.

Family and friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St, Oakland, MD, Friday, January 27, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 28, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Swanton Otterbein United Methodist Church, Swanton, MD with the Rev. Angie Cosner and Pastor Ross Glotfelty. There will be an additional viewing one hour prior to the funeral service.

Interment will be in the George Cemetery.
