Freda Pennington

Freda Pennington, 84, of Oakland passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home. Born on May 26, 1931 in Allen County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Otis and Pauline (Herold) Swiger. She was a member of the Lakeside Assembly of God and had been employed by Gregg's Pharmacy for 29 years prior to her retirement. She is survived by three stepdaughters, Gloria Krahl of Bloomfield, CT, Mary Cosby and husband Peter of Berlin, MD and Gale White and husband Roger of Pensacola, FL; a stepson, Joseph Arnold of Spain; two brothers, William Swiger and wife Lillian of Front Royal, VA and Ernest Swiger and wife Connie of Oakland; and numerous step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Henry Arnold and James M. Pennington, her twin sister, Fleta Swiger and sister, Flora DeWitt. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, October 16th from 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, October 17th at 11 AM with Pastor Dennis Caton officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lakeside Assembly of God, 18012 Garrett Hwy., Oakland, MD 21550 or to a charity of one's choice.
