Frank Louis Hoffner Sr., beloved husband and father passed away on Dec 17,2017 at Garrett Memorial hospital surrounded by his family. Frank was born on Sept 23, 1930 in Kempton, MD to the late Anna Drenning Hoffner, and Lawrence L Hoffner Sr. of Kempton, MD. Also deceased is one brother and three sisters. Frank served 20 years and traveled the country in the Air Force from which he retired. He served 1 year with honor in the Korean War and became chief surgical assistant serving also during the Vietnam Nam war until his retirement. Frank and Pat have resided in Thomas, WV from 1974 until present. The Pride and greatest source of joy to Frank was his devoted wife of 66 years, Pat and their three children, Cynthia, Frank L. Jr., and Gina, along with 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A special thank you to the caring staff at Cortland Acres and to Father Timothy Grassi, all of whom Frank came to know and love. Frank fought a hard battle with Parkinson’s disease but he never lost his sense of humor or playfulness. He was always showing courage in the face of struggle, as the staff at Cortland Acres can attest to. Frank will be sorely missed and he will always remain in our hearts. At the request of the deceased, his remains were cremated. A mass will be held, 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Timothy Grassi as celebrant.
