Frances Shaga

Frances Mary Shaga, 100, of Davis, WV passed away May 28, 2014.

She was born March 8, 1914 in McKeesport, PA, a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Kocjancic. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Shaga, who passed in 1978. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Pauline Sluger and Josephine Kaferly. She is survived by a huge family of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and 1 great-great-great nephew. Mrs. Shaga worked as homemaker. She was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Ladies Guild, and SNPJ Lodge. She enjoyed being a caretaker of the elderly and making rugs with her loom. She was known for her potica and apple strudel. Friends will be received Friday, May 30, from 5-8 PM at Hinkle Funeral Home. Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 31, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Timothy Grassi as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
