Forrest “Pete” Leonard Dobbins, 92, of Oakland MD, died on Friday, April 6, 2018, at his home. Born on February 16, 1926, in Waynesboro, VA, he was the son of the late Tennyson and Mary Dobbins. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Myrtle E. (Cheek) Dobbins. He was a WWII, Air Force veteran that served as a B-27 Tail gunner, followed by a 30 plus year career at Bethlehem Steel. He was also a proud Oakland resident, outdoorsman, hunter and member of American Legion Post 71, Deer Park Sportsman Club and Elks Lodge. He is survived by children, Forrest A. Dobbins, Robert L. Dobbins, Wanda E. Dobbins, Gary W. Dobbins, Vera L. Cavey, James P. Dobbins and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME P.A., 21 N 2ndSt., Oakland on Thursday, April 12, 2018, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, April 13, 2018, at 11 AM with Rev. Matthew Paugh officiating. Interment will follow in the Dobbins Family Cemetery.
