Florence Lucille "Lucy" Shorb, 94, of Oakland died on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home. Born on November 30, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Joseph T. and Flora M. (Browning) Wolfe. She was a clerk at the Half Price Store in Oakland. Lucy was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed playing cards and spending her time in the company of others. She is survived by her dear friend, Shirley Panther and Shirley's family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Shorb. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, August 8th from 10 to 10:45 AM. A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church at 11 AM. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dennett Road Manor Activities Dept., 1113 Mary Dr., Oakland, MD 21550.
