Faye B. Schmidt, 86, of Swanton died on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on September 6, 1926 in Oakland, she was the daughter of Elza Ola and Lillie Florence (Mosser) Biser. Faye was a former cook for Southern High School and co-owner of the 135 Meat Market. She was a member of the Oak Park Church of the Brethren and enjoyed sewing tree skirts, working in her flower garden and cooking. She is survived by a son, Jim Schmidt and wife Connie of Swanton; three daughters, Linda Bittinger and husband Don of Oakland, Kathy Coppola and husband Edward "Nick" of Panama City, FL, and Sandy DeWitt and husband Rick of Swanton; twenty grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; a brother, Warren Biser of Glendale, AZ; and a sister, Mildred "Midge" Graham of Morgantown, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Henry Eugene Schmidt; six brothers, Frank, Kenneth, Elza Jr., Gerald, Marshall, and Doyle Biser; and a sister, Virginia Wike. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, January 25th from 5 to 8 PM and at the Oak Park Church of the Brethren, 110 Church Lane, Mt. Lake Park on Saturday, January 26th from 10 to 11 AM at which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. Mark Hickman officiating. Interment will follow in Garrett County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550 or the American Cancer Society, 1050 W. Industrial Blvd. Cumberland, 21502.
