Evelyn Lipscomb

Evelyn May Lipscomb, a beloved member of the Eglon community, passed away on September 9, 2023, at the age of 56. She was born on May 13, 1967, to Guy C. and Shirley F. (Beckman) Lipscomb of Eglon, WV.

Evelyn was a graduate of East Preston High School and later attended Fairmont State University. She dedicated several years of her life working for the Garrett County Board of Education.

In her free time, Evelyn found joy in the company of her friends and family. She had a passion for reading. Additionally, she had a deep love for animals, particularly dogs and cats. Evelyn was a member of the Brookside Covenant Brethren Church.

She is survived by her parents who will forever cherish the wonderful memories they shared throughout their lives. Evelyn also leaves behind a wide network of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Guy R. and Elda I. (Moats) Lipscomb, as well as her maternal grandparents, Kenneth W. and May E. (Fike) Beckman.

Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland, on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 4 to 7 PM and on Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 10 to 11 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11 AM with Pastor Dennis Leatherman officating. Interment will follow in the Eglon Cemetery.
