Evelyn Jean Iman, 78, of Oakland died on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home. Born on September 17, 1936 in Cumberland, she was a daughter of the late Richard D. and Louise E. (Lee) Iman. As a former client of the Appalachian Crossroads, Evelyn had worked for many local businesses including the Elks, Garrett County Roads Department, Bausch & Lomb and the State Police Barracks. She had participated in Special Olympics for which she had won various awards and certificates. Evelyn was very well known in the community and had a warm, uplifting personality. She never met a stranger and left an everlasting impression on all who entered her life. She is survived by a number of extended family and close friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Amos, Maxine, George and Mary. A funeral service will be held in the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Saturday, May 2nd at 1 PM with Pastor Barbara K. Rexroad officiating. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Appalachian Crossroads, 39 S.
