Eula Strait

Eula "Jean" Strait, 84, of Oakland died on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. Born on February 9, 1932 in Catlettsburg, KY, she was the daughter of the late John and Lucille (Wilkes) Brown. She had worked numerous jobs over her years in restaurants, factories and as a flag car driver but her greatest accomplishment was caring for and making a good home for her family. She enjoyed candle making and was an avid Scrabble player. She is survived by four children, Michael Strait, Jeannie Janyska and husband Butch, John Strait and Gail Strait, all of Baltimore; grandchildren, Chae Milliner, Anna Janyska, Michael Strait and Valerie Grum; two great grandchildren, Hailey and Layla; and her long-time companion, Glenn Butts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Strait and a grandson, Charlie Milliner. A funeral service will be held in the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Wednesday, February 24th at 11 AM with Pastor Matthew A. Paugh officiating. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550.
