Esther Householder, 78, of Oakland returned to her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Kettering Medical Center in Dayton, OH. Born on February 21, 1936 in Newell, PA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Eva (Baiajk) Paraschak. After graduating from Brownsville High School in 1954, Esther attended the Allegheny General Nursing Program in Pittsburgh, PA and married her high school sweetheart, Bob, on December 24, 1956. She was a loving homemaker and faithful member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Mt. Lake Park as well as a dedicated volunteer for the Burlington United Methodist Family Services. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #67 and an active member of her local community. She had also worked part-time at Reel Video in Oakland for several years. She is survived by three children, Edward Householder of Oakland, Denise Householder and husband Randy DeWitt of Oakland and Michael Householder and wife Jackie of Dayton, OH; five grandchildren, Travis Skeweris, Austin Skeweris, Madelyn Householder, Angie DeWitt and Josh DeWitt; and a number of nieces, nephews and many others who considered her a second mom. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Robert Householder. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Monday, August 25th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and at the Bethel United Methodist Church on Tuesday, August 26th from 9 to 10 AM after which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Jeffrey Zickefoose officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
