Ernest "Greg" Wotring, 51, of Oakland died on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at home after a long battle with cancer. Born on July 24, 1961 in Oakland, he was the son of the late Ernest Robert and Ramona Marie (Gregory) Wotring. While he was employed by Mettiki Coal Company for 23 years, his joy was found in camping, fishing, bowling, playing cards, NASCAR and spending time with his family and dear friends, "The River Gang". He was a member of the Elks Lodge 2481. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Brenda L. (Calcamp) Wotring; three children, Tim Wotring of Oakland, Brittaney Shearer and husband Marshall of Tunnelton, WV and Paige Wotring of Oakland; a sister, Tina M. Parton and husband Keith of North Huntingdon, PA; a brother, William "Eric" Wotring of Oakland; and many nieces and nephews. Greg was a special Pappy to his pride and joy, Rishell and Emma and owned by Zoey, his beloved boxer. Friends will be received on Friday, November 30th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. 2nd St, Oakland. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, December 1st in the funeral home with Rev. Donald Matthews officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
