Ernest Harold Dumire, 91, of Eglon, WV passed away October 17, 2016 at Garrett Regional Health Center. He was born April 15, 1925 in Accident, WV a son of the late Willis Herbert and Lula Florence Snyder Dumire. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Slaubaugh Dumire. Also preceding him in death was one son, Jeffrey Wayne Dumire and one great-grandson, Hunter Barnwell.
He is survived by two sons, Ronald Lee (Deborah) Dumire, Eglon, WV and Timothy Harold (Lisa) Dumire, Newton, NC, two daughters, Shirley Jean (Everett) Blamble, Aurora, WV and Dorothy Mae (William) Kitzmiller, Bayard, WV, one brother-in-law, Arthur Slaubaugh, Eglon, WV, two sisters, Betty Brinegar, Mt. Jackson, VA and Janet Wilson, Bridgeport, WV, 12 grandchildren, 25 great-granchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and a host of nephews and nieces.
Mr. Dumire worked for the Department of Highways for over 20 years, followed by retirement to become the primary care giver for Betty, his wife. He enjoyed riding his John Deere Gator, farming, and gardening. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Friends will be received Wednesday, October 19, from 4-8 PM at Hinkle Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held, 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 20, at Hinkle Funeral Chapel with Rev. Cheryl George officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery. The family would like to express a special thank you to caregivers of Mr. Dumire.
