Erma L. Paugh, 90, of Elk Garden, WV, died on Friday, January 31, 2014 at Dennett Road Nursing Home. She was born on July 10, 1923 in Emoryville, WV and was the daughter of the late Thomas Bird and Susan (Sayers) Shepperd. Erma was a homemaker and an outdoor woman. She loved coon hunting, fishing, gardening and raising birds. Erma had attended Nethken Hill United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children, Peggy Y. Sherwood and special friend Richard "Dick" Warnick of New Creek, Hilda Elaine Droppleman of Baltimore and Kenneth R. Paugh, Sr. and wife Barbara of Oakland; special nephew, Ernie Paugh of Florida; grandchildren, Pamela Droppleman, Shari Crawford, Kenneth R. Paugh, Jr. and Linda Brown; great grandchildren, Lacy Harkins, Chelsea Ward, Jessica Crawford, Cassie Cogley, Josh Moon, Jacob Brown and Brandon Brown; great-great granddaughter, Lyla Jayde Cogley; sisters, Margaret "Sissy" Brown of Keyser and Beulah Paugh of Baltimore and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harland Ray "Bud" Paugh in 2008, thirteen brothers and sisters and two son-in-laws, Joe Droppleman and Larry Sherwood. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, 710 Church St., Kitzmiller, MD on Sunday, February 2, 2014 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. and 10 to 11 AM Monday at the Nethken Hill United Methodist Church at which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Matthew Paugh officiating. Interment will follow in the Kalbaugh Cemetery.
