Erma "Jean" Gosnell

Erma Jeannine Gosnell, "Jean" passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Cherry Hill Assisted Living. Born on March 2, 1929 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late George Anderson Brunson and Naomi Wade.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edwin Gosnell; and two sisters, Vilma Grimes and Charlotte Lutz.

Jean loved gardening, knitting, baking and she was a prolific reader. But her favorite times were spent with friends and family.

Jean and her husband, "Buzz" owned and operated B & G Sales for many years. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church as well as the Women's Civic Club of Oakland.

Jean had a keen sense of style and creativity that was showcased throughout her home. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her laugh was contagious.

Jean is survived by her children: Jennifer Schwartz (Hank), Jill Wakefield (Gary), Chuck Gosnell (Peggy), Jeff Gosnell (Sherry), Amy Azzi (Renny). She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Jessica Gracie-Griffin (Corey), Max Schwartz, Jeremy Gosnell (Heather), Ryan Gosnell, Lindsey Thayer, Samantha Thayer, Taylor Gosnell (Molly); and three great grandchildren: Mya Gosnell, Benjamin Gracie-Griffin, and Peter Gracie-Griffin.

We would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Cherry Hill Assisted Living. They provide dignified, loving care to all of their residents.

A visitation will be held at C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., on Sunday, August 25, 2024 from 12 PM - 4 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 11 AM. Interment will be held in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
