Ellen Easter

Ellen Colleen (Shaffer) Easter, 70, of Oakland died on Monday, September 2, 2013 in the Garrett County Memorial Hospital. Born on April 6, 1943 in Brookside, WV, she was the daughter of the late Harold H. and Annie E. (O'Haver) Shaffer. She was a member of the Maple Grove Assembly of God in Horseshoe Run, WV. Ellen enjoyed playing cards, farming, church socials and, especially, spending time with her family. She is survived by her partner, David Sines; children, Ed Bowman and wife Tammy of Oakland, Renee Liller and husband Jeff of Oakland, Beth Sliger and husband Bert of Friendsville, and Scott Bowman and wife Valerie of Gerrardstown, WV; grandchildren, Justin Ellifritz and wife Michelle, Tiffany Sliger, Ryan Ellifritz, Ethan Bowman, Destiny Bowman and Rubie Sliger; great grandchildren, Waylon Sliger, Jada Sliger and Brookelyn Ellifritz; and siblings, Robert Shaffer and wife Wilma, Bennie Shaffer and wife Kay, Barbara Fike and husband Phillip and Mickie Elliott and partner Charles Knotts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by infant twin sons, Bruce and Brian Bowman; and brothers, Walter Shaffer and wife Kate and Lonnie Shaffer and wife Josephine. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Wednesday, September 4th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7 PM at which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. Shaun Roberts officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
