Eleene Sacks

Eleene Marie Sacks, 95, of Oakland, Maryland passed away surrounded by her family on December 16, 2019 at Garrett Regional Medical Center in Oakland, Maryland. She was born August 15, 1924 in Roanoke, Virginia a daughter of the late Caley Edward and Addie L Hurt Young.

Mrs. Sacks was reunited with her husband in Heaven, Beryle Coster Sacks, whom she married on May 30, 1947. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1975. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by one son-in-law, Thomas Oddi.

Left to cherish her memories, one son, David Sacks and wife Gay, of Cape Coral, Florida, two daughters, Beth Tressler and husband Ken of Oakland, Maryland and Linda Oddi of Tequesta, Florida, six grandchildren, Jamie Sacks, Lisa Hanna, Randy Oddi, Alex Tressler, Geoff Tressler, and Kelly Friend, and four great-grandchildren, Tyler and Haylee Tressler, Braydon and Ranger Hanna.

As a young woman, Eleene was a model in Detroit, Michigan for the J.L. Hudson Store. She also worked for Macy's. She took great pride in her knowledge of china and silver. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially in the summertime when there were hamburgers cooking on the grill. You would often times find her playing cards, bingo, or listening to the Big Band music. Anyone who knew her, knew she had a special love for animals, especially dogs; she loved visits from her family of furry friends.

At the request of Mrs. Sacks, she will be cremated. There will be a graveside service scheduled at a later date in Florida. Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Condolences may be made to the family at www.hinklefennerfuneralhome.com
