Effie May Wotring, 75, of Aurora,WV died on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Garrett Regional Medical Center in Oakland. Born on August 18, 1940 in Crellin, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur and Rebecca Lake (Paugh) Sliger. She was a faithful member of the Oak Park Church of the Brethren where she was active in the soup kitchen and the making of prayer shawls. She had also attended Underwood Church of the Brethren which was her childhood home-church. Effie enjoyed going on cruises and bus trips as well as planting flowers, particularly roses, and decorating for the holidays. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her four children, Karen Ray and husband Wayne of Mt. Lake Park, Roy "Buck" Wotring and wife Karen of Horseshoe Run,WV, Karla Wotring of Amboy, WV and Peggy Crosco and husband Todd of Falling Waters, WV; grandchildren, Amanda Sody, Melissa Ravenscroft and husband TJ, Ashley Jarvis and fiance David Delauder, Kasie Spaid and husband John, Kimberly Watkins and husband Ricky, Allison Wotring and Brianna Crosco; a great granddaughter, Lyssa Sody and two great grandchildren on the way; three sisters, Judy Shaffer of Horseshoe Run, WV, Violet Foster and husband Bill of Oakland and Jenny Holtschneider and husband Dale of Deer Park; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest "Jake" Wotring, in 2001; five sisters; six brothers; and a grandchild. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Tuesday, November 10th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and in the Oak Park Church of the Brethren on Wednesday, November 11th from 1 to 2 PM after which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Carl Fike officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
