Effie Mae Seaman, 75, of Elk Garden, WV passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center in Cumberland. She was born on February 26, 1938 in Elk Garden the daughter of the late Garland and Mae (Oates) Welch. She was a faithful member of the Elk Garden Assembly of God Church. She is survived by two sons, William Mayhew Sr. and wife Linda of Elk Garden and James Seaman and wife Lisa of Mt. Storm; a daughter, Paula Moats and husband Alfred Sr. of Front Royal, VA; two stepdaughters, Gloria Bombardier of Hopewell, VA and Judy Garrison of Essex, MD; one stepson, Gordan Seaman of Laurel, DE; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; one brother, Charles Welch and wife Florence of Elk Garden; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Seaman in 1993; two brothers, Elmer and Melvin Welch; four sisters, Clara Welch, Genevieve Welch, Mildred Whitacre and Judy Weese; and a stepdaughter, Joan McNight. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St., Kitzmiller, on Monday, April 8th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and Tuesday, April 9th at the Elk Garden Assembly of God from 10 to 11 AM at which time a funeral service will be held with the Rev. Donald Marple and Rev. Joe Tichnell co-officiating. Interment will follow in Kalbaugh Cemetery, Elk Garden. Pallbearers will be: James E. Seaman Sr., James Seaman Jr., Allen Moats Jr., William Mayhew Jr., David Weese and Phillip Morris.
