Edwin Gaither

Edwin Daniel “Dan” Gaither, 66, of Mt. Lake Park, died on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.  Born on February 4, 1951 in Oakland, he was the son of the late Edwin “Dude” and Edith (Cosner) Gaither.  Dan had retired from Garrett County Memorial Hospital where he had been a respiratory therapist.  He was a member of the Loch Lynn Church of God.  In his spare time, Dan loved to read his bible, hunt, fish and cook.  His family was his life.  Dan is survived by his daughter, Danielle Hazelwood and husband Josh of Oakland; two granddaughters, Madi and Briella; brothers and sisters, Rick Gaither and wife Carolyn, Doug Gaither and husband Scott, Sue Evans, Joni Callis and husband Fred, and Joell Downer; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah K. (Simmons) Gaither in July 2011.  Friends will be received at the Loch Lynn Church of God, 8649 Gorman Road, Oakland on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 11-2:00 PM at which time a funeral service will be held with Pastors Ivan and Cindy Ackerman officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Loch Lynn Church of God, PO Box 2027 Oakland, MD 21550.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., Oakland.  Condolences for the family may be left at www.csfredlockfh.com.
