Edward Lewis

Edward Oliver Lewis, 68, of Oakland died on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at his home. Born on January 18, 1946 in Oakland, he was the son of the late Oliver Albert and Juanita Hope (Rexrode) Lewis. He was a graduate of Southern High School and a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War. He had worked as a coal miner and, later, as a mechanic and tow truck driver having owned Lewis Used Cars and Towing. Ed loved racing with his boys and grandchildren, hunting, and spending time with both his horse, Cochise and his companion, Molley. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Bonnie Sue (Bowman) Lewis; children, DeWayne Eddie Lewis and wife Gayla (Viands), Michael Scott Lewis and wife Linda Mae (Schrock), Tammy Sue Morgan and husband Terry Dale and Jamie Lynn Lewis and Donnette Riley-Lewis, all of Oakland; a daughter in law, Laurena (Carr) Lewis; grandchildren, Rhonda Rebecca Lewis and husband Bobby, Amber Dawn Lewis Hill and husband Max, Aaron Jennings Wells and wife Mindy, Brittany Nichole Sines and husband Jeremy, Dylan Michael Lewis, Jeremiah Jay Lewis and Talon Shane Lewis; great grandchildren, Brooke Shania Martin, Skyler Lamar Lewis, Lindsey Brooke Lewis and Parker Jennings Wells; brothers and sister, Ronald Lewis, Roger Lewis, Robert Lewis, Clifford Lewis, Connie Glotfelty, and their families; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tiffany Ann Morgan; a sister, Deloris Jean Murphy; and an infant sister, Diana Lewis. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Tuesday, January 6th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, January 7th at 11 AM with Pastor Joe Spiker officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
