Edith "Nene" Gray

Edith Mary “Nene” Gray, 99, of Oakland died on Monday, November 27, 2017, at Dennett Road Manor.  Born on December 13, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Edward Lee and Dorcas (Cullers) Ritchie.  She was a member of the Fairview Church of the Brethren, where she had served as the song leader for many years.  In addition to spending time with her family, she enjoyed sewing, gardening and travel.  She is survived by a son, Donald Lee Nine and wife Rachel of Oakland; two grandsons, Timothy Lee Nine and wife Donna and Christopher Scott Nine and wife Annette; great grandchildren, Timothy Lee Nine, Jr., Karrie Lynn Nine and Kylee Alexis Hinebaugh.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Elmer Nine and John Gray; brothers, Ernest, Herbert and Arvie Ritchie; and a sister, Dorothy “Dot” Arnold.  A funeral service will be held at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Thursday, November 30th at 11 AM with Pastor Carl Fike officiating.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.
