Dwight Snyder

Dwight Snyder 74 of Oakland, MD died Monday January 25, 2010 at Garrett County Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late Cecil and Ruth Snyder and the husband of Helen Snyder. Also surviving is Hallie Snyder, mother of son Jason and wife Ary Snyder, Oakland, daughters Sylvia Beckman and husband Gary, Oakland and Jennifer Burns and husband Joey, Mt. Lake Park, Sister Naomi Swartzentruber and husband Rob of Oakland, grandchildren Amanda Beckman, Trentin Snyder and Haylie and Kaiden Burns, 14 step grandchildren and 1 step great-granddaughter Stepchildren Randy Stockett and wife Eva, Mike Stockett and wife Susan, Brenda Lucas and husband John, Darren Stockett and wife Cheryl.

Dwight was the founder and owner of Snyder's Cabinet Shop which he operated with his son Jason until his retirement. At which present time Jason continues to own and operate. Dwight was also a pilot and taught flight lessons for many years. He also owned Snyder's Butcher Shop.

Friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, 21 N. Second Street Oakland, MD on Wednesday January 27 from 7-9 pm and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral services will be held Friday11 a.m. at the Oak Park Church of the Brethren with the Reverend Gail Hixon and Carl Fike officiating. Internment will be in Maple Springs Cemetery.

The family request memorial contributions be made in Dwight's name to the Bolivia Orphanage Fund c/o Oak Park Church.
