Douglas Bittinger

Douglas Harold Bittinger, 68 of Mt. Lake Park, MD, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at his residence.
Born January 24, 1942 in Oakland, MD, he was the son of the late Delbert and Ina G. (Moyer) Bittinger. Also, preceded in death are son, Christopher Douglas Bittinger; brother, Delbert R. Bittinger, Jr. and sister, Lorraine Dixon.
Doug began his career working with his father at Del Builders Construction, then he worked 15 years with the Local 1024 Carpenters Union of Cumberland. In 1983 he started his own business Automotive Machine Inc., where he worked until his death.
Surviving are: wife, Susan Elaine (Martin) Bittinger; son, Scott Bittinger, Oakland, MD; daughters, Dana Deal, Addison, PA, Amy Marple, Kelly Fitzwater and Leigh Miller all of Oakland, MD; brothers, Gary Bittinger, Anderson, South Carolina, Lloyd Bittinger, Alexandria, VA; eight grandchildren and one great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. 2nd Street, Oakland, MD, Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
Services will be Sunday, October 24, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
