Douglas Baker

Douglas Allen Baker, 60, of Oakland, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Garrett Regional Medical Center.  Born on October 23, 1958 in Oakland, he was the son of the late John E. and Dorothy O. (McRobie) Baker.  Doug was employed by Beachy Lumber Company for 30 years.  He was known to be a jokester with a fun-loving generous spirit.  He enjoyed woodworking, cooking up culinary treats for his family and friends and spending time cultivating friendships through HAM radio.  Doug regularly attended Oak Park Church of the Brethren with his family.  Doug is survived by his bride of 23 years, Irene E. (Deberry) Baker; a son, John Wolfe of Oakland; nine siblings, Darrell Wayne Baker and wife June of Cedarville, IL, Ron Baker of Grayson, KY , Norma Harper of Cumberland, Georgiana Sines of Oakland, Barbara Meyers and husband Chuck of Oakland, Richard Baker and wife Glenda of North Port, FL, Linda Belasco of Oakland, Janet Beckman of Cumberland, Patty Crouse of Hartley, DE; several nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Wayne Cavender and wife Brenda of Mill Run, PA, Ray Hash and wife Mary of Valley Point, WV; a sister-in-law, Kathy Deberry and partner Drew Eshenburg of Valley Point, WV and a best friend, Don Kisner and wife Joyce.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Donna Baker; a brother, Roger Baker; and his father-in-law, Harold Deberry.  Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 from 10-12 PM at which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Carl Fike officiating.   Memorial contributions may be directed to the Oak Park Church of the Brethren, Attn:  Bolivia Missions, 110 Church Lane, Oakland, MD 21550.  Condolences for the family may be left at www.csfredlockfh.com.
