Dorothy Miles

Dorothy Mae Miles, 103, of Silver Spring died on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the J K House of Grace Assisted Living in Silver Spring. Born on November 1, 1911 in Darnestown, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Mamie T. Miles. She attended both Gaithersburg High School and Strayer College in Washington D.C. She worked for the Department of the Air Force at the Pentagon and received a certificate of service award for 35 years of faithful federal service. She is survived by a brother, William Ward Miles; a brother in law, Stirling Kehoe; and eight loving nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Miles Wells and Betty Miles Kehoe; a sister in law, Margaret Miles; and a brother in law, Henry Wells. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. The Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland is assisting the family with arrangements.
